National Civics Bee®

Calling All Middle School Students!
The National Civics Bee is an annual competition that encourages young Americans to engage in civics and contribute to their communities.
This annual initiative – now expanding to all 50 states – invites middle school students (6th, 7th and 8th) to showcase their civics knowledge, engage in their communities, and build trust in others and institutions through a nonpartisan, multi-round competition for a chance to win recognition and cash prizes.
The fifth annual National Civics Bee will take place in 2026 in partnership with local and state chambers of commerce across the United States.
The Evansville Regional Economic Partnership is proud to have been named an official partner to host a regional competition in Evansville, Indiana in 2026. we believe that informed and active citizens make for a strong country, a strong economy, and a strong workforce, and that our continued prosperity depends on the strength of all three.
Who is Eligible + How to Enter
Any Indiana student enrolled in grades 6, 7 or 8 at a public, private, charter or home school institution at the time of entry is eligible to participate. Students should review the contest rules before applying.

Important Dates:
- September 8, 2025: Essay Application portal opens
- February 3, 2026: Essay Application portal closes
- March 20–May 23, 2026: Regional Bee season
- June 6–July 3 2026: State Finals
- Fall 2026: National Championship in Washington, D.C.
