New Resources for COVID-19 Vaccinations, Testing

The Indiana Chamber of Commerce and Wellness Council of Indiana (WCI) continue to encourage businesses to urge workers to get vaccinated for their own health and that of their workplace – and have now taken steps to make that even easier. A new partnership with Franciscan Health Immunization Department offers free COVID-19 vaccination clinics on site to employers. Both employees and their dependents are eligible to participate. Two small employers are also welcome to come together for a clinic. The only requirement for the complimentary service is a minimum of 15 people at one location. We all know that testing is another big component in lessening the spread of the virus. The Indiana Chamber and WCI have secured a vendor pipeline via Patients Choice Laboratories in Indianapolis. The company provides PCR COVID testing statewide with results 24 hours after receipt. The test kits can be shipped to employers anywhere in the state. And Patients Choice Labs will pick up the tests to analyze them.

On January 19, the groups will be hosting a webinar for employers on the very latest with variants, vaccines/boosters, testing and mandates. Legal experts will share their guidance and we will review the key resources available and the efforts taking place across the state. And there is a panel discussion with Hoosier employers that will highlight successful, innovative policies and strategies around COVID-19. These new offerings are part of the Indiana Chamber and WCI’s expanded COVID Stops Here campaign; for full details, go to www.indianachamber.com/stopcovid.

Plea: ER Not for COVID Testing Given the unprecedented patient volume in our hospitals, the Indiana Chamber and hospitals around the state are urging Hoosier employers to NOT advise employees to go to their local hospital emergency rooms simply to receive a COVID test. This takes much needed staff and resources from those in need of emergency medical care during this COVID-19 surge. Please instead visit the COVID testing sites across Indiana or contact the Indiana Chamber’s testing partner.
