E-REP BR&E Visit to Prime Foods

As part of the Evansville Regional Economic Partnership’s (E-REP) Business Retention & Expansion (BR&E) program, recently visited Prime Foods in Boonville. Along with representatives from Success Warrick County, the Indiana Economic Development Corporation (IEDC), Southwest Indiana Workforce Board, and CenterPoint Energy, we met with the Prime Foods team to learn more about their operations, workforce, and the important role they play in the region’s manufacturing and food processing industry.

Prime Foods is a leading producer of hard-boiled eggs and value-added egg products, serving customers across the country. Their product lineup includes hard-boiled eggs, deviled egg filling, snack packs, retail egg products, and co-packed products for nationally recognized brands and restaurant chains. The company also supports approximately 1.3 million laying hens through its network of contract farms in eastern Indiana, providing a reliable supply of eggs for its operations.

The scale of their operation is impressive:

  • Supports approximately 1.3 million laying hens
  • Processes approximately 2 million eggs every day
  • Operates approximately 24 hours a day, five days a week, with production followed by extensive cleaning and sanitation each cycle
  • Employs approximately 210 team members
  • Operates approximately 15 production lines manufacturing a variety of egg-based products
  • Supplies products to major national brands and food service customers

During the visit, Prime Foods shared how automation and continuous improvement remain key priorities as they continue investing in operational efficiency and maintaining high food safety and quality standards.

These visits are an important part of E-REP’s BR&E program, allowing us to stay connected with existing employers, better understand their needs, and connect them with resources that support long-term success in Southwest Indiana.
