Celebrating Transformative Developments and Growing Momentum

I hope you’ve paid attention to the transformative developments our region has announced over the past few weeks, and I hope you’re as proud as I am to witness the remarkable progress and momentum shaping our region’s future.

One of the most significant milestones is the unveiling of the Ohio River Vision and Strategic Plan, a comprehensive blueprint for developing vibrant, inclusive and thriving riverfronts across the Evansville Region. This plan, shaped by the input of thousands of regional residents, reflects our collective vision to strengthen our connection to the river and foster a sense of community. Covering 50 miles, the plan includes initiatives for Downtown Evansville, Mount Vernon and Newburgh, emphasizing regional collaboration, and sustainable practices. We eagerly anticipate the implementation of these projects and the positive impact they will have on our riverfronts.

In addition, we recently celebrated the groundbreaking of a $60 million mixed-use project at Fifth and Main streets, known as The Vault on Main. This initiative, led by our Economic & Community Development team and developed by CRG Residential, will bring 161 residential units, retail spaces, vibrant green space, and underground parking to Downtown Evansville. The Vault on Main represents a vital step in our efforts to revitalize our downtown area, attract new talent and enhance the quality of life for all residents. We are immensely grateful to Gov. Eric Holcomb, the Indiana Economic Development Corporation, Mayor Stephanie Terry, CRG Residential, Old National Bank, CenterPoint Energy, and all the partners for their dedication to this transformative project.

The enthusiasm and commitment shown by our residents, businesses and partners are driving us toward a more prosperous and dynamic future. Let us celebrate these successes and continue to build on the momentum we have achieved.

Thank you for your unwavering support and dedication to making the Evansville Region a better place for all.
