UE Hosting Missions of Mercy Presentation on March 31

The University of Evansville (UE) will host a presentation by a member of the Syrian-American Medical Society (SAMS) on Thursday, March 31. The event will begin at 6:00 p.m. in Room 162 of the Schroeder School of Business Administration building.

Join local physician Dr. Bashar Mourad as he presents “Missions of Mercy,” which will provide a glimpse into medical missions in Syria, as well as the healthcare crisis both inside and outside the country. Mourad is a physician with Ohio Valley Nephrology Associates as well as a member of SAMS. The presentation is co-sponsored by the UE Center for Innovation and Change and Scholars for Syria. Both groups hope to educate the local community about the importance of connecting cultures and how it supports global citizenship and better healthcare for all.

The mission of SAMS is to save lives and work to ensure healthcare development on behalf of Syrian-American healthcare professionals. It is a leading humanitarian organization, harnessing the talents of Syrian-American healthcare professionals and channeling them toward medical relief for the people of Syria and the United States.
